Varsity Season Ends With Heartbreaker Loss

Up 2-1 with 2 Minutes Remaining

Varsity - Bellevue Game Report: Mt Si 2 - Bellevue 3

By: Head Coach Darren Brown 10.31.2011

It was a very tough loss tonight...we outplayed them for 70 minutes but, take nothing away from Bellevue's squad...they fought hard and got those last two goals from hustle and determination. Needless to say...I am very proud of you guys. This year was a pure joy to coach each and everyone of you...the coaching staff is sad tonight as we really wanted you guys on to the next step but, it was not lined up for us tonight. You are all a great group...seniors...you will all be very successful in life. You know what its like to dig down deep in the trenches. Underclassmen...take this match with you as fuel going forward. Move on but, don't forget. We will be back. Wednesday post-season meeting in ASB room. Bring your uniforms washed and in a bag with the # on the outside. Seniors will be short...underclassmen will get their exit interviews and player evaluations. Keep your head up! Go Wildcats! Coach Brown

JV - Interlake Game Report: Mt Si 1 - Mercer Island 1
FINAL 2011 SEASON RECORD - 12W-2T-2L
By: Coach Glenn Cramer 10.28.2011

Team good soccer tonight although we tied you came to play , we new M-I would come at us and they did it was just like Lake Washington game, all the team get better as the season goes on, and that s what happened tonight, I thought MI took it to us in the first half, and we took it to them the second half each team both scored in there half, We do believe we left some goals out there. Maddy Hutchinson got are only goal tonight to secure the tie.

Team This was a great season ending with a nice record 12-2-2 very nice you should be very proud of what you did. I want to say you need to keep working hard to make it to the next level some of you didn't take it serious enough, and found out at the end you didn't get chosen for the playoff, you need to come out every practice and game don't assume you have a spot, and that also goes for next year you need to be ready at tryout. There are a lot of good players out there the C team new players coming in, so I would say be ready, and work your tail off every practice and game.

Very good season Greg and myself want to thank you for being good students, and players we really enjoyed coaching you, good luck in your club season.

FINAL 2011 SEASON RECORD - 10W-2T-0L
FINISH SEASON UNDEFEATED!
Game Report: Bronwyn McDaniels - C-Team Coach 10.25.2011

We tied Mercer Island “Freshman” team last night 1-1. We came out last night with our focus intact. Maddie Jones was shut down at every opportunity after almost scoring early in the game. Mercer definitely did their homework since we played their ‘C team’ earlier in the season. Our offense kept up the attack for 80 minutes last night. Hannah Winfrey made some great runs on the goal. Our midfielders kept possession and were able to send the ball through for shots on frame, as well as had few of their own opportunities to score. The defense was kept very busy throughout the game.  They held the Mercer attack to minimal shots on. We held possession and were able to move the ball with linked passes and  through balls. We used our width wisely last night driving the ball in for the cross and scoring opportunities. We scored late in the 2nd half with 8 minutes to go. Maddie Jones drove the ball past the Mercer goalkeeper to score. A few minutes later the ref called a supposed foul in the box giving Mercer a PK. Using our skills and teamwork we outplayed the opponent last night, unfortunately the scoreboard is not a true reflection of how brilliantly the girls truly played last night. Their heart and passion for the game shone through all 80 minutes of play. Well done girls!

On a personal note: I want to say how proud I am of all the girls. They came together as a team to face one opponent after another with great sportsmanship, composure and determination. This is a team that will forever be in my memory as a team who came together for a common goal to overcome adversity with grace.

“The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don't play together, the club won't be worth a dime. Babe Ruth

Thank you for the privilege of being able to work with such awesome student-athletes and young women. I will be forever changed by this season. You have helped me to be a better coach and a better person.  Coach Bronwyn
